Mount St. Mary's honors EMS workers

The week of May 15-21 was recognized as National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week. On May 18, Mount St. Mary’s Hospital hosted its 17th annual Niagara County Salute to Emergency Medical Services Recognition & Awards Dinner at the Niagara Falls Country Club. This event followed a two-year pause. It honored EMS partners for “going above and beyond the call, doing life-saving work that many cannot do, and doing it with professionalism and compassion.”

The following agencies received “Excellence in Patient Care” awards: Bergholz Volunteer Fire Co., Lockport Fire Department, Gasport Chemical Hose Co., Lewiston Fire Co. No. 1, Mercy Flight, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Niagara Falls Fire Department, North Tonawanda Fire Department, Pekin Fire Department, Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, South Lockport Fire Co. Inc., Tri Community Ambulance Service Inc., Tri-Town Ambulance, Twin City Ambulance Corp., Upper Mountain Fire Co. and Wrights Corners Fire Co.
