Niagara Falls Police Department investigating two shootings, one fatal

At approximately 4:21 p.m. Monday, May 2, the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to a report of a shots fired and a man down in the 700 block of Pine Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a 26-year-old Niagara Falls resident suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to ECMC for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.

Approximately eight minutes later, police were then dispatched to a report of another person shot in the 600 block of Ninth Street. When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old Niagara Falls resident suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts from medical personnel, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Niagara Falls Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed either of the shootings, or has information regarding them, to call the Niagara Falls Police Department's criminal investigation division at 716-286-4553 or the NFPD general information number at 716-286-4711.
