CEPA announces 16th charitable auction to raise funds for exhibitions & educational programming

Event will feature a silent and live auction, works from internationally & locally renowned artists

The Center for Exploratory & Perceptual Arts invites the Greater Buffalo community to join its 16th charitable auction at 6 p.m. Friday, May 20. Hosted in the Forbes Theater at 500 Pearl, the event will auction more than 100 works supporting CEPA’s programming. Items for purchase include works from internationally renowned photographers such as David Levinthal, Charles Clough, Deborah Jack, Kathy High, William Wegman and prominent Western New York talent. Tickets are available for purchase.

“CEPA is thrilled to celebrate 48 years of art-making and civic engagement,” Executive Director Véronique Côté said. “This event is an opportunity not just to share our collection of remarkable artworks with collectors and enthusiasts, but also to thank Buffalo for its continued commitment to the arts as an essential facet of life and community.”

The auction preview exhibition will open on May 6 in CEPA’s Main Street gallery. The gallery will offer extended viewing hours that day. Bidding on these works will also begin at this time. Bidding will close at the end of the event, 9 p.m. May 20. Guests can bid in-person or remotely through a smartphone or computer using an online platform. Guests unable to attend the event can bid for free online.
