Domestic incident-barricaded subject in Wheatfield

From the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office:

At 12:42 a.m. Saturday, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office communications division received a 9-1-1 call reporting a domestic incident on Washington Street in the Town of Wheatfield, Hamlet of Bergholz. Upon arrival, the male subject allegedly barricaded himself within the caller’s residence while refusing to comply with deputies’ requests to speak with him and exit the residence.

Following many attempts requesting the individual to exit the residence, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office emergency response team was activated. During the incident, the man attempted to flee by exiting the residence through a window on the rear, lower level of the home, and was quickly apprehended by deputies.

He is charged with burglary in the second degree (C felony), criminal mischief in the third degree (D felony) and criminal contempt of court in the first degree (E felony). The individual was remanded to the Niagara County Correctional Facility, awaiting centralized arraignment. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
