Grand Island Easter egg trail and activities

Fri, Apr 15th 2022 07:00 am

The Grand Island Recreation Department is teaming with the Grand Island Memorial Library and Miracle League of WNY to present an Easter egg trail and activities on Friday, April 15.

From 9:30-10 a.m., there will be an Easter egg hunt in the library for children with adaptive needs. Eggs will be hidden throughout the building for a fun egg hunt. Additional Easter activities will be offered until 11:30 a.m. Enjoy refreshments, coloring, a photo booth and crafts.

Then, from 10-11:30 a.m., follow the Easter egg trail outside through Veterans Park. Come anytime; eggs will be available for the duration. Trail maps and information will be available inside the library. Egg locations will be marked with wooden Easter decorations. It will take approximately 30 minutes to walk the entire trail. See trail map for more details.

Children ages 3-10 are welcome to participate. Remember to bring a basket or bag to collect eggs! Collect and keep Easter eggs at each location – each egg has a treat or toy in it.

Random eggs will have golden tokens in them. Find one and bring it to the Recreation Department staff inside the library for a golden egg prize (including Easter-themed toys and chocolates donated by Kelly’s Country Store).

New this year: Enjoy refreshments and treats hosted by the Golden Age Club. It will be selling coffee, hot chocolate, doughnuts and baked goods. Enjoy while walking the trail – or buy some delicious treats to take home. All proceeds support the not-for-profit club to support senior activities around Grand Island.
