The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported that, at 2:41 a.m. Saturday morning, Deputy Alex Hall was on patrol when he observed a vehicle that had been previously identified from several
larcenies in Niagara and Orleans counties. Hall confirmed the license plate on the vehicle to be one in the same.

As the vehicle turned from Lockport Road in the Town of Niagara southbound onto Hyde Park Boulevard in the City of Niagara Falls, Hall attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle allegedly failed to yield for patrol and a pursuit ensued.

He continued on Hyde Park Boulevard, losing control of the vehicle at the intersection of Ontario Avenue. The vehicle left the roadway, striking a road sign, and a large concrete post, causing it to go airborne and land in the parking lot of The Family Dollar.

The driver then attempted to flee on foot, however, he was apprehended by Hall and
taken into custody.

Two additional occupants were in the vehicle and were identified. The front-seat passenger
had active warrants from NCSO and the Niagara Falls Police Department. However, due to his
injuries, he was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. A female passenger in the rear of the vehicle was also injured and was transported to the hospital.

The driver was charged with unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, driving while impaired by drugs, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, criminal impersonation and various vehicle and traffic law infractions.
He was also wanted on a Niagara County felony assault second warrant from December of 2021.

The driver was remanded to the Niagara County Jail, where he was scheduled to be arraigned in CAP court. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
