Be Our Guest Ltd. will extend the Ice at Canalside, presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York, through March 19.

A press release noted, “The Ice at Canalside has seen great success as people have come out to experience the lineup of activities and events all winter long. To continue this excitement through the end of the season, Be Our Guest announces ‘Courtside at Canalside’ from March 16-19, a weekend-long basketball-themed celebration at the Ice at Canalside.”

“We are thrilled to be able to extend the Ice at Canalside season and host visiting basketball fans in March,” said Kevin Parkinson, VP of finance and operations for Be Our Guest. “Our team is putting together an exciting line up of specials and promotions to bring energy to the Ice.”

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York President Dr. Michael Edbauer said, “We’re pleased to see how Western New Yorkers have embraced this decidedly cold winter and remained active throughout. That’s why we’re excited to help extend the Ice at Canalside season, and hope our community takes advantage of a few additional weeks of skating, curling, ice bikes and bumper cars.”

The “Courtside at Canalside” festivities will include live DJs, team specials, ice basketball, trick shot contests, games, light and balloon displays, and food trucks. The “Courtside at Canalside” program will also feature a Labatt Blue Zone tent with drink specials, sampling, a bucket shoot tournament, and giveaways.

"We're very excited that visitors to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at KeyBank Center will be able to enhance their time in Buffalo with a visit to Canalside," said Patrick Kaler, president and CEO of Visit Buffalo Niagara. "The activities planned under the banner of ‘Courtside at Canalside’ are sure to provide our guests with a fun time and the best possible impression of our city and the great strides we've made since the last time the tournament was held here."

During the “Courtside at Canalside” festivities from March 16-19, curling will be closed to the public. Public skate hours are subject to change based on weather. For more information, visit www.buffalowaterfront.com.
