Ryan flipped district with 61% of vote in 2020

New York State Sen. Sean Ryan has declared his candidacy for reelection to New York’s 60th Senate District. Ryan won the race for the seat in 2020 with 61% of the vote, winning the election by the greatest margin in the past decade – and flipping the district for the Democratic Party. Ryan previously served in the New York State Assembly, representing the 149th Assembly District from 2011-20.

The newly drawn 60th State Senate District includes a portion of the City of Buffalo, the cities of Niagara Falls and Tonawanda, and the towns of Tonawanda, Hamburg and Grand Island. Ryan begins the year with nearly $235,000 already on-hand for the 2022 campaign.

He said, “It has been an honor to represent the people of the 60th district in the New York State Senate, and I look forward to the year ahead as I work hard to earn the voters’ support for reelection. I have enjoyed visiting communities throughout the 60th District as part of my daily efforts to deliver for the district and do what is right for Western New York. I look forward to meeting with new communities of the 60th district, including Niagara Falls, and working hard to earn their support. We have faced very challenging times these past few years. Throughout it all, I have made it a priority to address the continued impact of the pandemic, help families and businesses recover, rebuild our economy, and fight for the issues Western New Yorkers care about. I am optimistic about the future, and look forward to a spirited campaign in the months ahead.”
