Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York (RMHC of WNY) announced the hire of Bob Schatz as the new house manager. He brings to the charity 16 years of experience in facilities management.

“Bob brings extensive experience in multiple facets of operations management, including facilities and event management, vendor relations and customer service,” said Marianne Hoover, executive director of RMHC of WNY. “His expertise will be a tremendous asset to our organization. We're thrilled to welcome him to the team.”

Schatz is responsible for house operations, including facilities management and the supervision of the front of the house staff, and volunteer engagement. Schatz will work in collaboration with the guest services manager, for guest relations, and house programs and services.

“I’ve spent my entire career on the corporate side of business,” Schatz said. “As a Buffalo native, I wanted to finish my career with a job where I could pay it forward and give back to the community where I live. I was familiar with the Buffalo House from my Buffalo Bills days and always viewed RMHC of WNY as a stellar charity with a rich history of helping families stay together. The position of house manager is the perfect next step in my career where I can combine my experience and my desire to help others. I'm looking forward to working with the RMHC of WNY team, volunteers, donors and guest families.”

Prior to joining RMHC of WNY, Schatz most recently served as project manager northeast division of Diversified Maintenance Systems.

Previously, Schatz spent 30 years with the Buffalo Bills, where he held myriad front office positions. In the last 16, he held the position of assistant director of stadium operations.

Schatz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Brockport. He has volunteered with many local nonprofit organizations, including the United Way Toy Shop and Camp Good Days and Special Times.

RMHC of WNY is a Chapter of the national and international network of Ronald McDonald House Charities. It is operated by a local volunteer board of directors. RMHC of WNY is responsible for its own fundraising and program priorities, and is 100% funded by donations from the local Western New York Community.

The mission of RMHC of WNY is to create and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. For over 35 years, the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House has served more than 400 families from Western New York, surrounding states and outside the U.S. each year. Since opening in late 2017, the Ronald McDonald Family Room located in Oishei Children’s Hospital serves over 1,000 visits each month, and the Happy Wheels Cart make more than 360 bedside visits each week.
