Buffalo residents can donate clothing to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day clothing drive

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, City of Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown recently joined with the Division of Citizen Services and the Buffalo Police Department to announce donation boxes for new coats, gloves, hats, scarves and socks were placed in the lobby of Buffalo City Hall. Donations will be collected through Feb. 1.

The winter clothing items will be distributed to partnering organizations, including Cornerstone Manor (Buffalo City Mission’s Women and Children’s Shelter), Buffalo City Mission’s Men’s Center, Salvation Army Emergency Family Shelter, Homeless Alliance of WNY and the Matt Urban Center.

In addition to City Hall, donation boxes are also on site at Buffalo’s five Police Districts:

•South District, 1847 South Park Ave.

•Central District, 695 Main St.

•Ferry-Fillmore Station, 693 East Ferry St.

•Northwest District, 669 Hertel Ave.

•Northeast District, 2767 Bailey Ave.
