From the Office of Mayor Robert Restaino:

On Sunday, at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Niagara Falls Police Crash Management Unit was called to investigate a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 1500 block of Niagara Avenue. A 44-year-old Niagara Falls man was traveling east when he struck a 26-year-old woman who was lying in the lane of travel. The driver, and a police officer who was traveling behind him, immediately stopped to provide aid to the woman. She was taken to Erie County Medical Center where she is listed in critical but stable condition, having suffered facial and head injuries, two broken arms and fractured ribs.

The driver was uninjured and is cooperating in the investigation.
