Congressman Brian Higgins invites college students and graduate students interested in gaining valuable government experience to apply for an internship with his office. Internships are available in both office locations (Washington, D.C., and Buffalo), begin as early as January and continue through the end of May at the latest.

“Congressional internships give students first-hand government experience, as well as the opportunity to make a difference in the Western New York community,” Higgins said. “I encourage students who are interested in learning about and contributing to the democratic process to contact my office.”

Higgins offers both full-time and part-time internships in the spring, summer and fall. Interns have the opportunity to be involved in a number of activities: supporting constituent services, conducting legislative research, attending committee hearings and briefings, and assisting with various administrative tasks. A limited number of interns join the team each semester.

To apply for an internship in either office, send a cover letter, resume, and a writing sample to [email protected] and indicate interest in a D.C. or Buffalo office internship in the subject line of the email.

For more information, contact the D.C. office at 202-225-3306, the Buffalo office at 716-852-3501; or visit https://higgins.house.gov/services/internships.
