American Legion Band of the Tonawandas to appear at Cardinal O'Hara High School PAC

The American Legion Band of the Tonawandas brings its Christmas concert to the Cardinal O’Hara High School Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Dec. 12. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at 39 O’Hara Road, Tonawanda. Tickets are available at the door for $14, or save $2 with an advance purchase at Walker Bros. & Monroe Jewelers, 84 Webster St., North Tonawanda; Mid-City Opticians, 968 Payne Ave, North Tonawanda; or Tonawanda Senior Center, 35 Main St., Tonawanda.

Participants can hear the 80-member American Legion National Championship Band, conducted by Michael Shaw, perform a symphonic pops program in the style and tradition of John Philip Sousa. On the program are famous holiday works, including “Knightsbridge March” by Eric Coates, “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” by Leon Jessel, “Christmas Toons & Santamania!” by Robert Thurston, “Sleigh Ride & A Christmas Festival” by Leroy Anderson, “The Sound of Music” by Richard Rodgers, “Tales from the Vienna Woods” by Johann Strauss, “The Polar Express” by Alan Silverstri and “Cantique de Noël – O Holy Night” by Adolphe Adam.
