Organizations invited to submit ideas for high-impact projects; deadline is Dec. 3

The 21st Century Fund, a fund and giving circle of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2021-22 grant cycle. Application information, including the link to apply online, can be found at www.cfgb.org/nonprofits/grants/21st-century-fund/. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Dec. 3.

A group of selected applicants with high-impact projects will be invited to present at a virtual event in March 2022, where 21st Century Fund members will learn about the projects and vote to narrow the pool down to a group of finalists. In April 2022, the finalists will present at a separate event, members will vote, and a $100,000 grant will be awarded.

The 21st Century Fund is unique in that the members pay a one-time fee to join, and every two years come together and vote to award a $100,000 grant for a specific project that they feel will benefit the Western New York community.

In the 2020 process, 21st Century Fund members chose to award the grant to FeedMore WNY’s “Grow More for Good” project. The grant was used to purchase a second container farm that will be used for indoor, vertical growing to enable FeedMore to double the output of crops and put fresh, nutritious and fragile produce into clients’ hands within 48 hours of harvest.

The fund has awarded more than $1 million since its inception in 2000. It is always accepting new members. Learn more at www.21stCenturyFund.org
