At approximately 4:50 p.m. Sunday, the Niagara Falls Police Department was called to 22nd Street and Whitney Avenue to investigate a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

A 58-year-old Buffalo man was operating a motorcycle heading southbound on 22nd Street when he collided with a Dodge. The Dodge, which was being driven by an 18-year-old man from Lewiston, was traveling the wrong way on Whitney Avenue, a one-way street meant for westbound traffic.

The motorcyclist suffered numerous injuries. He was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and was then transferred to Erie County Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Dodge was uninjured and is cooperating in the investigation.

The crash management team responded to the crash scene and is continuing the investigation. Charges are pending.

•At approximately 10:18 p.m. Friday, the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the 300 block of Buffalo Avenue to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle.

It appears the 47-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was traveling east on Buffalo Avenue and failed to navigate the curve in the road, crashing the vehicle.

He was taken to ECMC and is currently in critical condition. The crash management team responded and is continuing the investigation.
