Impact patrol operation in City of Niagara Falls

On Tuesday, the Niagara Falls Police Department, in collaboration with several other law enforcement agencies, executed a joint impact patrol operation to focus on crime in the City of Niagara Falls.

This type of operation is conducted periodically utilizing an organized collection of agencies to bring in known criminals. This operation included efforts from 85 federal, state and local law enforcement officers from the Niagara County Sheriff's Department, New York State Police, Town of Niagara Police Department, Town of Lewiston Police Department, Lockport Police Department, North Tonawanda Police Department, New York State Park Police, Niagara County Probation, U.S. Border Patrol, and FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

This operation resulted in 240 law enforcement contacts, 12 arrests, two sets of federal weapons charges, the seizure of five firearms, 13 warrants executed, 107 traffic tickets, and a quantity of narcotics seized for processing and pending further charges.

The agencies involved organized this police force saturation through joint efforts to patrol the city, focusing on areas of high, repeated activity, marking them as hot spots.
