The Rotary Club of Niagara County Central was chartered by Rotary International on June 23, 1987. Thirty-four years later, the club is still active and supportive in the community.

Members recently held their installation dinner at the Wurlitzer Events Center in North Tonawanda. The following officers were elected for 2021-22: President Daniel Ljiljanich, Secretary Amy Kauderer and Treasurer Pat Sullivan; and to the board of directors: Dave Evans, Tom Grimm, Gail Perona and Dave Seaman.

Rotarian Marsha Emmons submitted her resignation due to her relocation to Florida. Ljiljanich thanked Emmons for her years of service and extended well wishes. He acknowledged Emmons’ late husband, Joseph, began the dictionary project in 2006. Ljiljanich assured her the Rotary Club of Niagara County Central would continue to annually donate dictionaries to third-grade students in the Niagara Wheatfield and Wilson school districts.

John Cooper was sworn in as a new member of the Rotary Club of Niagara Country Central. Cooper is not new to being a Rotarian, having been past president of the Niagara Falls Rotary Club and past governor of Rotary District 7090.

New members are always welcome. Breakfast meetings take place at 7:15 a.m. two Thursdays a month at Niagara County Community College, 3111 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn. For more information, contact Sullivan at [email protected] or 716-622-5470.
