Following a report from independent investigators appointed by New York Attorney General Letitia James – led by Joon H. Kim and Anne L. Clark – detailing multiple allegations of sexual harassment by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said, "We will move expeditiously and look to conclude our impeachment investigation as quickly as possible.”

On Thursday, Director of Communications and Senior Adviser to the Governor Rich Azzopardi said, "The Assembly has said it is doing a full and thorough review of the complaints and has offered the governor and his team an opportunity to present facts and their perspective. The governor appreciates the opportunity. We will be cooperating."

Paul Fishman, outside attorney for the executive chamber, said, "One of the report's many errors is its conclusion that the executive chamber impermissibly retaliated when it responded to Lindsey Boylan's allegations. On July 18, we provided the attorney general's office with a 13-page, detailed analysis explaining why such a finding would be legally and factually wrong. The report irresponsibly mischaracterizes and dismisses that analysis in a footnote."

The legal analysis can be viewed here.
