Local companies step up big to support Give716

Corporate partners pledge nearly $250,000, call on community to join them on 716 Day

Give716, Western New York’s communitywide day of giving, gets underway at 7:16 p.m. Thursday. Several local companies are joining the Buffalo Bills and Sabres in calling upon the community to support local charities.

Six companies, together with the Buffalo Bills and Sabres Foundations have already committed almost $250,000 in pledges:

• Dave & Adam’s Card World
• Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York
• HUNT Real Estate & HUNT Mortgage
• KeyBank
• M&T Bank
• Wegmans

Additionally, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Rachel’s Mediterranean Grill will have in-store initiatives to benefit Give716. Total Sports Enterprises and Wesley Clark & Peshkin will also be contributing with unique programing.

The Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres are now calling upon the community to join in donating beginning Thursday evening. The first 2,000 people who log onto Give716.org and donate $71.60 or more will receive an exclusive Give716 T-shirt featuring the Bills and Sabres logos. Additional incentives will continue throughout the day on Friday, with online power hours, donation matching and grants for local charities. More information will be announced throughout the event on Bills, Sabres and One Buffalo social media channels.

Donations to Give716 will support more than 400 charities across Western New York, many of which have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Members of the public will have the option of donating to the Give716 general fund, or directly to a charity of their choice. All donations can be made online at Give716.org. Give716 will begin at 7:16 p.m. July 15 and run through 11.59 p.m. Friday, 716 Day.
