City of Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino’s office reported the following this past weekend:

•Niagara Falls Fire Department responded to a fire at 1928 Lockport St. Upon arrival, crews found one structure fully involved. The fire quickly spread to 1930 Lockport St.

Both homes are considered a total loss. The Red Cross was called for displaced residents at the second structure.

•While responding to the structure fire on Lockport Street, Niagara Falls Fire Department crews were called to a structure fire on Wyoming Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a single-family home fully involved in flames, with fire venting through the roof. Crews attempted to enter the structure to conduct a search, but were forced out due to heat and heavy fire.

Once firefighters were able to gain entry, a victim was found deceased.

This fire is currently under investigation.

• Niagara Falls Police Department officers were dispatched to 18th Street and Willow Avenue in response to reports a man had been shot.

The victim, a 30-year-old Niagara Falls man, had been hosting a large party in a building at the corner of 18th Street and Linwood Avenue when he was shot several times.

The man was treated at the scene by AMR and taken to ECMC. He is still currently hospitalized.

Anyone with information is asked to call Niagara Falls Police Department detectives at 716-286-4553.

•Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash at 56th Street and Niagara Falls Boulevard.

A Toyota was traveling west on Niagara Falls Boulevard when the 18-year-old male driver of the vehicle crossed over the eastbound lane and rolled down the embankment. The driver and rear-seat passenger were ejected from the vehicle, while the front-seat passenger, a 19-year-old female who was wearing a seatbelt, remained in the car.

The vehicle came to rest against a building directly across from the AMR Ambulance office. The vehicle occupants were transported by AMR personnel to Erie County Medical Center.

The driver is in the trauma ICU with head and hip injuries. His condition is considered serious, but he is in stable condition. The rear-seat passenger, a 21-year-old male, suffered from a fracture to his sternum and other non-life-threatening injuries. He is also in stable condition. The front-seat passenger suffered minor injuries.

The Niagara Falls Crash Management Team is investigating the accident. Charges are pending
