Erie County Auto Bureau manager earns ‘well deserved’ recognition

Erie County Clerk Michael P. Kearns (right) recognized Cheryl Matter (center) on her retirement from the Erie County Clerk’s Auto Bureau Division after more than four decades of dedicated service with the department. Also, on hand for the presentation was Scott Bieler (left), President and CEO of West Herr Auto Group.

Matter supervised operations of the Cheektowaga office, which conducts close to 200,000 transactions on an annual basis. Over 50,000 of those dealings are vehicle registrations produced by the sales of automobiles from West Herr alone, generating millions of dollars that go toward supporting vital programs and services across the county through the Erie County clerk’s “Renew Local” campaign effort.
