Wed, Nov 11th 2020 08:15 am

Syros Restaurant is voluntarily closed right now, as an employee recently tested positive for the coronavirus. A Facebook post from the Greek American family diner on Monday read:

“Dear Valued Syros Restaurant Customers,

“Unfortunately late last night we received news that one of our employees has tested positive for COVID-19. The said employee worked Friday November 6th. It has been confirmed that the employee did not contract the virus at work. After evaluating the facts we shut operations down effective immediately to begin our deep cleaning and testing protocol. We have been working in conjunction with the Niagara County Health Department to ensure that are complying with and surpassing all NYS guidelines. Out of an abundance of concern for our loyal staff and customers we will remain closed until all necessary sanitation/testing protocols and requirements are met. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely. The welfare of our staff and community is our utmost priority. Thank you for your continued support and we will alert you as soon as we are open for business. Sincerely, The Syros Family.”

On Tuesday, management stated the eatery had been deep-cleaned and would be again before reopening in the near future.

Syros is located at 869 Cayuga St., Lewiston.
