The Niagara County SPCA is the recipient of funds from a Halloween celebration in North Tonawanda.

Known as The 870 Lee Ave. Home Haunt, the event was named Buffalo’s Best Haunted Attraction by WIVB News Channel 4, and drew hundreds of visitors over past weeks.

On Nov. 3, the event’s organizers, WNY Property Kings owners Kyle and Alisha King, presented Niagara County SPCA officials with a check for $6,500, representing proceeds from ticket sales.

A press release noted, “The Niagara County SPCA’s no-kill shelter relies on community support to continue its mission. Thanks to this generous donation, more homeless and neglected animals now will be cared for until they find their forever homes.

The King family members said they were grateful to be able to give a true Halloween to children and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the second straight year the King family has assisted the no-kill shelter. SPCA officials said donations from this event have now surpassed $13,000.

Pictured at Tuesday’s presentation were, from left, Kimberly LaRussa, director of community engagement for the Niagara County SPCA, and WNY Property Kings owners Kyle and Alisha King, and their daughter, Bella. Not shown are the King children, Little Kyle and Adrianna, who were at school that day. (Submitted photo)
