Mount St. Mary’s Hospital welcomes Tai Ho Shin, M.D., to its Primary Care Center located at 5290 Military Road, Lewiston. Shin brings more than a decade of clinical experience and expertise to the growing Lewiston practice, specializing in endocrinology.
Board-certified in internal medicine, Shin received his medical degree from Brown University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, and his fellowship in endocrinology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.
“Our lifestyle, including food choices and exercise habits, have a profound impact on our well-being,” Shin explained. “I believe up-to-date, evidence-based practice, reliable medical judgment, modern technology, and an optimistic attitude ensure thorough care. I look forward to providing my patients with the tools and advice they need to improve or maintain their overall health.”
Shin treats all types of endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disease, bone disease, lipid disorder, metabolic syndrome, obesity, pituitary/adrenal disorder and hormonal disorders. He also provides diabetes education, insulin treatment, thyroid assessment and treatment, laboratory evaluation of hormonal and metabolic issues, and pharmaceutical device usage.
