Registration is now open for William Mattar’s annual “Pencils 4 Schools” program. Even though this year’s program has a new look, the goal remains the same: to provide pencils for educators and their students. Teachers located in the Buffalo area may register for this year’s “Pencils 4 Schools” drive-thru pencil pick up, taking place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 15, at William Mattar’s Williamsville office.

“2020 has been a year of challenges for educators, parents and students in our community. It seems more and more teachers are purchasing school supplies for their students with their own money. The William Mattar ‘Pencils 4 Schools’ program helps to alleviate some of this burden for teachers and helps students get ready for classes by providing them with a basic classroom tool, a pencil,” Mattar said.

Current Buffalo-area school administrators, teachers and educators are encouraged to register for the Aug. 15 drive-thru event on www.WilliamMattar.com. Teachers can anticipate receiving one box of 250 pencils, including a few extra gifts. Registration will remain open until all spots are filled.

Teachers and educators who register must be present to pick up pencils at 6720 Main St., Williamsville. Social distancing requirements will be in place, and William Mattar asks all teachers who attend wear a mask and maintain a distance by remaining in their cars. Space is limited, and one must pre-register to attend. For more information or to register, visit https://www.williammattar.com/community-involvement/programs-and-campaigns/pencils-4-schools/.
