Rebel Ride, an indoor cycling and fitness boutique in Amherst, is hosting four zoom workout classes this weekend benefiting The Community Action Organization of Western New York (CAO). Each class costs $10 and can be purchased online at rebelride.com.

The classes are part of Rebel Ride’s “Zoom Workouts for a Cause” supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. All proceeds will go to CAO’s center services and recreation department, which is committed to building vital and healthy communities through a variety of services such as advocacy and outreach, capacity-building, translation services and other initiatives that can strengthen citizen participation.

President and CEO of CAO L. Nathan Hare said the proceeds will help their center services locations continue to connect vital groups in the community such as block clubs, parents, schools, seniors, businesses and organizations with each other.

“We are thrilled to have a community partner like Rebel Ride showing such good will for a cause that is so important to Western New York,” Hare said. “This is such a positive way to not only promote health and wellness, but the value of bringing community assets together for a cause.”

Founder of Rebel Ride, Erika Brason said she wants the public to know these classes are for everyone.

“If you don't have a stationary bike at home for the cycle classes, hop on your treadmill, elliptical or otherwise,” she said. “The two other classes are for all levels of fitness and exercises can always be modified. Just grab a set of hand weights, or substitute with soup cans. It’s all about moving for the movement, and we want the focus to be a celebration of people coming together. Please join us!”
