Michelle Marcotte, a Lewiston artist, will revive the occasional Niagara River Region Art Studio tours this summer – but, outside and socially distanced. She invites Lewiston-area artists to contact her so they can get organized to collaborate in timing, organization and publicity.

She said, “Our goal will be to show and encourage sales of our work safely, while boosting the spirits of our currently art-starved communities.

“Generally, a studio tour works best if the artists involved can be near enough that, by driving or biking, visitors can visit three to seven artists in a day.”

Now, while Marcotte is organizing Lewiston, she invites art leaders in other communities to organize in their area, and to discuss whether collaborating will be useful to the artists or not.

She said, “Since this program will be led by local artists, we can discuss issues and sort out what approaches are best.”

Marcotte has experience organizing studio tours and will chat with anyone who wants to organize in their community.
