Jericho Road opens new medical clinic in Buffalo City Mission's New Community Center

Alfiero Family Center of Hope and Promise clinic will serve existing, new Jericho Road patients, as well as City Mission residents

Opening represents first available service in City’s Mission’s $15 million center

Jericho Road Community Health Center has opened its fourth health center in the City of Buffalo, located in the Buffalo City Mission’s new community center, the Alfiero Family Center for Hope and Promise. Located at 100 E. Tupper St., the clinic was developed in partnership with the City Mission as part of its $15 million center – scheduled to open later this fall to the whole community.

In its four exam rooms, Jericho Road will treat existing and new patients, as well as City Mission residents. Physician assistant Karyanne Cox and medical doctor Patrick Hurley are the main medical providers at Jericho Road’s Buffalo City Mission location and offer adult primary care and women’s and children’s health. In addition, Cox has a background in working with people experiencing homelessness, as well as experience in addictions medicine. Hurley is board-certified in both internal medicine and psychiatry. On top of the expertise brought by both medical providers, the new clinic also offers medication assistance and access through Jericho Road’s pharmacy department, plus diabetes care and education.

“Opening a clinic at the Buffalo City Mission just made sense to our mission to provide health care to the most vulnerable,” said Dr. Myron Glick, founder and CEO at Jericho Road. “We are grateful to the Mission for giving us the opportunity to partner with them and support the physical health of their clients. We’re also pleased to be able to open our first medical site downtown, which will make our services more accessible to more folks in Buffalo.”

The medical clinic’s opening is the first phase in the broader opening of the 75,000-square-foot Alfiero Family Center of Hope and Promise, which will provide community and preventative services such as medical care, mental health services, and a first-of-its-kind recuperative care unit in Western New York for the homeless being discharged from a hospital setting.

The center is part of the City Mission’s vision moving into the next century to provide services that help prevent and decrease homelessness in the community. As part of this, the City Mission continues to engage community businesses, family foundations, organizations, and individuals to close the gap and reach the $15 million goal of its “Next Century” capital campaign.

A press release said there are several ways for the community to help the City Mission finish its “Next Century” capital campaign strong:
