Wed, Mar 18th 2020 02:30 pm

Town of Niagara Supervisor Lee Wallace posted the following Monday on the municipal website:

Please be advised that due to the ever changing landscape caused by the Corona Virus, and as recommended by Governor Cuomo Office, all non-essential Town of Niagara Departments as well as the Town of Niagara Town Hall will be closed starting tomorrow, March 17th, through Tuesday March 31, 2020.

If you have any questions regarding Covid 19 please call the 24 hour National Helpline at 1-888-364-3065

With the recent developments that occurred over the past few days regarding the Corona Virus, along with the State of Emergency that was declared in Niagara County, I provide the following updated information regarding The Town of Niagara.
Our goal as always is the health and safety of our residents, businesses and visitors. Therefore, we are taking a pro-active approach in an attempt to limit and slow down the spread of the virus, by instituting the following measures:

1. Following Niagara County’s lead, we are declaring a State of Emergency in the Town of Niagara until further notice. We are requesting that you limit nonessential travel as well as public gatherings and meetings.

2. The Calvin K. Richards Community Center including all rentals, senior activities, as well as any Veterans Memorial Park activities are canceled until further notice.

3. At this point the Town Hall will remain open, however we strongly encourage you to complete your town business on-line, by telephone, or email rather than in person at the town hall.

4. The regular monthly town board meeting will take place as scheduled this coming Tuesday March 17th, however, we ask you to err on the side of caution and stay home if possible.

5. Other town board and committee meetings (Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, etc.) are postponed until further notice.

I will do my best to keep you informed as things change in the coming days and weeks.

Thank you and stay safe.
