Historical Society of the Tonawandas President Alice Roth announced that all March and April programs currently scheduled are cancelled. All city buildings are now closed as of 4:30 p.m., and no night meetings will take place. This includes the Niawanda Pavilion, and thus, prevents the March 26 program regarding native Tonawandan Gladys Parker from occurring.

A press release said, “Our guest speaker for that evening, Trina Robbins, has cancelled her trip from California. She hopes we can reschedule. The program on the 27th at the Carnegie Center is also cancelled. President Roth thanks all of the people who have put the time and energy into pulling these two wonderful programs together. For those who have sent in reservations, their checks are being mailed back to them.”

“Hopefully, we will figure out a way to reschedule these beautiful and interesting programs in the months to come,” Roth said.
