Open house set for Sunday

The Niagara Arts and Cultural Center is now home to a state-of-the-art broadcast, podcast and vlog studio built and operated by YoWOWa Media Services.

The facility, located on the third floor, is home to several podcasts (“The Edge of the Falls,” “Niagara Falls – Two Sides of Tourism,” and another to be launched later this month) that utilize podcast sites and YouTube.

YoWOWa Media is owned by Peter Green of Niagara Falls and includes Lewiston-resident Barbara Bolen and several other "key professionals in the business of sales, marketing, multimedia production and other areas.” The company provides advertising production (broadcast-quality video and audio commercials for clients), social media marketing support, podcast and vlog production for groups or individuals seeking to launch their own podcast or YouTube channel; and a new program titled "Loving Reflections," which creates meaningful audio/visual memories of loved-ones for memorial services, or even family events where loved ones are recorded with family members. It showcase photos and film/video of family memories.

"Video production requires an approach that allows us to compete with larger, more established production houses," Green explained. "We focus on key areas of production that sometimes get overlooked or ignored by people doing it on their own, or on low-budget projects. These include lighting, audio quality, background and coaching our clients on delivering their own 'best performance' if they appear in – or narrate – an advertisement."

YoWOWa Media can create video ads or messages for websites, Facebook or whatever platform the client desires.

"Another aspect of our business is a program for young people that we have undertaken." Green added. "We are working with a small group of middle and high-school students who are learning every aspect of production and planning. They are thriving in the environment, which is very hands-on, and we plan to open a class for more students on Saturdays in the near future.”

The public is invited to an open house from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Suite 300 in the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls. The company will provide refreshments, demonstrations and tours of our facility.
