Supporters of Wavelengths Hair Design had no trouble finding their new location for a recent ribbon-cutting.

In what was the most heavily attended ribbon-cutting in recent memory, Wavelengths owners Erica Forbes, Danielle Neuhaus and Jennifer Carr cut the ceremonial blue ribbon from the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce Jan. 27 at their new location: 1780 Grand Island Blvd., suite No. 4.

“This is, honestly, probably one of the most impressive turnouts I’ve seen at any of these ribbon-cuttings that I’ve been going through for the past two years now. This is amazing to see how many people came together for this,” said Ryan McCarthy, Grand Island Chamber of Commerce first vice president.

McCarthy attributed the turnout in part to the longevity of the business, which has been in the family since the 1950s and was passed down from grandfather to mother to daughters. A vintage barber poll accents the decor in what is now the biggest salon on the Island.

Neuhaus said it was a dream come true to establish a “dream salon.”
