"Jingle Falls USA" kicked off its three-week holiday celebration Saturday with a LiveNF makers market, a “Community Candlelight Stroll” from City Hall to Old Falls Street, and the lighting of a majestic Christmas tree in front of The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls.

Santa met with children, while the Niagara Falls High School chorus and marching band performed songs of the season. Just down the street, the “Gingerbread Wonderland” was on display at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute. At night’s end, a grand fireworks display was presented courtesy of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and Niagara Falls State Park.

Weekend No. 2 of “Jingle Falls USA) (Dec. 7) will feature the “Deck the Falls” annual holiday vendor event at Power City Eatery; an ice-carving demonstration outside the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute; “Frozen” stars Elsa, Anna and Kristoff on Old Falls Street; and the second annual “Festival of Slice” – a “Niagara Falls USA Pizza Celebration” – inside the Conference & Event Center.
