59 stores collect donations at checkout to benefit local food banks during November & December

Price Rite Marketplace has announced its annual “Check Out Hunger” fundraising campaign, which raises funds to benefit local food banks in communities served by Price Rite Marketplace stores across the northeast.

Through Saturday, Dec. 28, 59 Price Rite Marketplace stores in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island will raise funds by collecting donations of $1, $3 or $5 from shoppers at checkout, providing customers with a convenient way to help feed hungry families in their communities. All donations from the point-of-sale fundraising campaign will benefit local hunger-fighting charities and organizations.

“We are proud to continue fighting hunger and food insecurity in the northeast through our annual ‘Check Out Hunger’ fundraising campaign,” said Jim Dorey, president, Price Rite Marketplace. “We greatly appreciate the support and generosity of our customers and associates, whose contributions help make a difference in the communities we serve.”

Price Rite Marketplace stores deliver a simplified shopping experience with top-name brand foods and products and expanded fresh produce and organic offerings at exceptional prices. Since 2002, Price Rite has raised over $1.6 million for the “Check Out Hunger” initiative to benefit 22 Feeding America Food Banks in eight states.

Price Rite Marketplace contributes approximately $500,000 annually to local food banks and food pantries through “Check our Hunger” and other charitable giving programs. This includes the Food Bank of Western New York.
