County clerk fosters awareness with auto bureau outreach

Erie County Clerk Michael P. Kearns and the Erie County Office for the Disabled will hold a special Disability Awareness Outreach Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26, at the new Erie County Auto Bureau located in the Southgate Plaza at 1088-B Union Road in West Seneca. Those interested may utilize the Seneca Street entrance located at the backside of the plaza in the former Bon-Ton.

Individuals with disabilities and their families will be able to obtain state-issued picture identification through the Erie County Auto Bureau and be assisted with other matters pertaining to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Erie County Office for the Disabled will also be on hand to disseminate information and provide an understanding of how the county can assist with identifying opportunities and services available to all residents who are disabled and their family members.

Those interested in obtaining a driver’s license, an enhanced license or a non-driver identification are required to bring the following documents as proof of identification: original birth certificate (or certified copy) and original social security card. A complete listing of documents required by the DMV can be found at www.erie.gov/clerk/autobureau.
