Partnership names WellNow Urgent Care a VA-authorized urgent care provider

Buffalo veterans have a new way to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

WellNow Urgent Care – one of New York’s fastest-growing urgent care providers – has added Department of Veterans Affairs TriWest to its network of accepted insurance plans. Through this partnership, WellNow Urgent Care has been named a VA-authorized urgent care provider where veterans can receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

“WellNow Urgent Care recognizes the ever-growing need to provide veterans access to urgent medical care services,” said WellNow Urgent Care President John Radford, M.D. “We are grateful for the sacrifices Buffalo veterans have made for our country and are proud to offer our urgent medical care services to them through TriWest’s inclusion within our network.”

As part of the partnership, veterans can walk into any WellNow Urgent Care facility with no appointment or prior authorization needed for treatment. WellNow will facilitate all coverage confirmation and billing logistics with the VA.

To be eligible, veterans must be enrolled in the VA health care system and have received care through the VA or a community provider in the past 24 months. To confirm eligibility, veterans can contact their local VA medical facility.

“Providing veterans access to convenient, high-quality medical care in a comfortable environment is an extension of our patient-centered approach to health care,” Radford said. “Offering new health care options for veterans in the Buffalo area is part of our continued commitment to the communities we serve.”

WellNow facilities provide treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, such as sprains, strains, colds and the flu, while also providing on-site X-rays, lab testing and physicals.

Buffalo veterans are treated on a walk-in basis, but may also check-in online or view up-to-date facility wait times directly on the company’s homepage. In addition to TriWest, WellNow accepts most insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid and Fidelis.

Most recently, WellNow Urgent Care opened its newest facility in Cheektowaga with future Western New York locations planned for West Seneca and Amherst. A full list of services and hours can be found online.
