Becker Farms & Vizcarra Vineyards hold Labor Day Harvest Festival

Becker Farms is welcoming fall with its annual Labor Day Harvest Festival, Aug. 31 through Sept. 2.

“The annual Harvest Fest features our early apples, including the much-loved Ginger Gold and Gala varieties. The Harvest Fest also kicks off the season with all the best fall has to offer … including our famous doughnuts and our most popular kids activities,” said Melinda Vizcarra, whose family established Becker Farms over 100 years ago.

This year’s festival takes place from noon to 4 p.m. each day.

Becker Farms’ annual apple picking and fall events start Friday. “This year, we will be debuting new kinds of apples, including the anticipated Snap Dragon and Ruby Frost varieties. It's been a great growing season. Maybe one of the best in the last 10 years!” said Oscar Vizcarra.

U-Pick apples are available daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A shuttle will be available on the weekends to get people to and from the apple orchards.

Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards is a fifth-generation, family-owned, 340-acre working fruit and vegetable farm that sells most of its products directly to the public. It’s located at 3724 Quaker Road, Gasport. More details can be found at beckerfarms.com.
