15th Sanborn-Lewiston Farm Museum Festival fast approaching

Summer is in full gear, and that means it’s almost time for the 15th Sanborn-Lewiston Farm Museum Festival.

The 15th year of this happening is slated for Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28. Each day features a plethora of fun, family-friendly events from young to old. Oh, and it’s free admission.

On Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m., the museum, 2660 Saunders Settlement Road, will feature a pancake breakfast until 11 a.m. Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. and, from there, Parkside Ave. Brass Quintet will play music from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Following the opening act, the Niagara River Dancers will entertain the crowd from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. From noon to 3 p.m., there will be kids activities for the little ones. More music comes about from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. as the Symmetrical Band takes the stage. Then, starting at 2 p.m., the ever-popular tractor parade will begin on the road. Additionally, from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m., the Zoo Mobile will be in attendance. All in all, the first day of activities runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Sunday, the events open with a French toast breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. The Niagara River Dancers will be back from 11:15 a.m. to noon to entertain. Fyfe & Drum will take the stage from noon to 1 p.m. Then, another running of the tractor parade will begin at 1 p.m., in addition to “make-your-own sundae.” Kids activities will run from noon to 3 p.m. and the Sanborn Fire Co. Band will play from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Winners of the basket auction, money raffle and kids programs will be announced at 3 p.m. Sunday’s activities run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to the scheduled events, there will be a Volkswagen car show on Saturday and an all-classic car cruise on Sunday.

Throughout the weekend, there will be antique tractors, tractor parades, tractor with wagon rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, a flea market, craft show and bake sale, food for purchase, music, a basket auction, produce vendors, kids activities, Wild Kritters of Niagara County and Farm Museum exhibits.

This year’s festivities are sponsored by the Grigg-Lewis Foundation, the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce, William Davis Insurance, Gorge Travel, Modern Disposal, Rhoney Funeral Homes, Wheatfield Pediatrics, Hoover’s Dairy, Orleans Monuments, the Town of Lewiston, Joe Cecconi, Assemblyman Angelo Morinello, Wagner’s Farm Market and the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission.
