Fun for whole family

The 10th annual “Festival of Fathers” will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Hyde Park Splash Pad in Niagara Falls (corner of Hyde Park Boulevard and Pine Avenue). The festival, which is free and open to the public, will include games, prizes, snacks and crafts, as well as activities to engage children and parents together.

The purpose of the “Festival of Fathers” is to encourage positive father-child interaction, while celebrating dads, grandpas and father figures. But the whole family is invited – moms, dads and kids.

In addition to the games and activities, those attending will have an opportunity to obtain valuable information from many other local and state human service agencies.

Heathy Families Niagara, a program of Pinnacle Community Services, hosts this event.

Founded in 1895, Pinnacle Community Services Inc., a private, nonprofit agency, has been providing the residents of Niagara County with a wide range of community social work service. Through its mission, “Side by Side, Step by Step…we strengthen our community by supporting and empowering individuals and families on their journey,” the agency serves over 2,000 individuals annually through prevention and intervention programming in the areas of domestic violence, mental health and chronic medical conditions, child abuse and neglect.

Healthy Families Niagara is a child abuse prevention program that focuses on the well-being of children, while supporting and encouraging the family during pregnancy and continuing through the first five years. For more information, visit pinnaclecs.org.
