Can You Help? Rachel Batt benefit

Sat, Jun 1st 2019 07:00 am

A fundraiser will take place to support a young mom facing a debilitating illness.

Rachel Batt of Ransomville, the mother of three teenagers, has been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, three brain aneurisms, and a serious blood clotting disorder. She has had two strokes and developed blood clots in both lungs. According to Rachel’s family, her doctors have told her there is no more they can do except keep her on blood thinning injections twice a day to prevent clotting, as her condition is currently too risky to treat with a surgical procedure. She receives in-home nursing care for speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy.

The family is having a fundraising event for her to help with co-pays and transportation to and from medical care.

The benefit will take place from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at the American Legion Post No. 1451 hall, 6525 Ward Road in Sanborn. It will include a basket raffle, music, a cash bar, door prize and bake sale meal, 50/50 raffle and karaoke.

Tickets are $20. To donate, call Grace at 716-791-3153, Peggy at 716-990-4406 or Chuck at 716-940-2150.
