As warmer weather approaches, Niagara County residents are anxiously anticipating the 20th annual Jack Beatty Memorial Hospice Cruise and Clambake. This year, the event will fall on Friday, July 12, at the Youngstown Yacht Club.

Organizers said, “Those registered before June 1 will get tickets at an ‘extremely discounted’ rate, so we encourage those interested to purchase tickets now. This cherished summer event serves as a fundraiser for Niagara Hospice, a local nonprofit located in Lockport, New York.”

For decades, members of the Youngstown Yacht Club, along with skippers around Western New York, have generously donated their boats and their time to take attendees up the Niagara River.

During the sail, boat owners provide snacks and drinks to attendees as live music is performed by The Junkyard Dogs – right on the water. Following the sailing portion of the event, guests enjoy a clambake and buffet featuring live music from Soul Committee. The evening ends with a silent auction full of gifts donated by local businesses and community members.

The Jack Beatty Memorial Hospice Cruise and Clambake has experienced great success over the past two decades, with each one selling out.

The 2018 Jack Beatty Memorial Hospice Cruise and Clambake raised more than $34,000 thanks to a total of 31 boats and 225 participants. Due to last year’s large number of attendees, event planners anticipate this year’s cruise will also sell out quickly. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register online early to secure their spot at a discounted rate before June 1.
