Easter egg hunt in NT

An Easter egg hunt will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, snow, rain or shine in the wooded area of Pine Woods park in North Tonawanda. The event is sponsored by the North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation and Parks, the North Tonawanda Youth Board, NT Student Council and the NT mayor’s office.

A general hunt for children ages 12 and younger who live in North Tonawanda or attend a North Tonawanda school will feature 4,000 plastic-filled eggs hidden in the park. 

The public is welcome to stand along the sidewalks surrounding the park until the police siren signals the official start of the hunt at 10 a.m.

Awards will be given to those who find the specialty-marked golden eggs.

At 10:30 a.m. children ages 5 and younger can receive a filled egg from the Easter Bunny, who will be in the open area beyond the main pavilion for photo opportunities.  

Preschool children (5 years and younger) may also participate in the general hunt or choose to use the fenced-in area adjacent to the main pavilion.

New this year is a visit from a local lama farm. Attendees are encouraged to come and enjoy the animals.  

The event is a fun-filled family activity for everyone to enjoy.
