Lee S. Wallace has announced he will seek re-election for the office of supervisor in the Town of Niagara. Wallace, the incumbent town supervisor, is a lifetime resident of the town and a previous town employee for more than 40 years.

As the incumbent supervisor, Wallace said, “I believe that my record and accomplishments speaks for themselves. I will continue to work as a stabilizing influence, as well as the voice of the residents as I move forward in these difficult times.”

Wallace, a registered Democrat, added, “I am truly excited about the opportunity to once again serve the residents and businesses of the Town of Niagara. My experience in town government gives me the credentials, leadership and understanding needed to provide the services the public requires. I look forward to continuing to improve our town infrastructure, and services, while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

“I will continue to have an ‘open door’ policy and governmental transparency and civility. In my time as town supervisor, I have worked to take personalities out of the decision making process, and establish a common sense approach holding true to what the Town of Niagara residents’ value most. As I have stated many times; I am running for you – the residents of the Town of Niagara; for my family and yours. A vote for me is a vote for you. I will keep ‘public’ in public service.”

Wallace said he will continue to be committed to more efficient government.

“My number one priority will be the residents, their issues and concerns,” he said.

Wallace pledged to “stay the course” on upgrading neighborhoods and strengthening police and fire services in the town.

“Public safety is essential for our community to thrive. I am committed to this community and dedicated to its future. Improving and upgrading our neighborhoods as well as keeping our families and communities safe are a must. I value our fire and police departments, and will support their efforts and needs in every way,” Wallace said.

During his tenure as supervisor, Wallace’s list of town infrastructure improvements and projects include the construction of “Remembrance Square,” and a Splash Park in Veterans Memorial Community Park; the Cayuga Creek Storm Water Project to elevate flooding issues in the Roberts Drive/Tuscarora Road area; the Fourth Avenue Pathway Project; and the ongoing conversion of street lights to LED, phase one of the Belden Center Sewer Project and the development of a new town Comprehensive and Master Plan.

The list of new events, programs and policies include Noel at Niagara, Trash to Treasure, “Music Mania Mondays,” the town Veterans Appreciation Dinner, the establishment of a town residency program for hiring, revised Fire Company Service Awards program for retirement, and the establishment of a comprehensive employee training program.

Wallace attended the Niagara-Wheatfield school system and studied at Niagara County Community College and Niagara University, graduating with an undergraduate degree in physical education/history and a master’s degree in education. Wallace was previously employed as a professor in the HPE division at NCCC, as well as the athletic director. He and his wife Patricia have two sons, James and Joseph, and three granddaughters.
