Niagara-Wheatfield High School has partnered with Empower and ACCES-VR in developing a Steps to Work program. This year is the second year of the program.

Selected students participate in a 12-week work readiness class that combines career exploration, resume development, job searching techniques, interview skills and other activities designed to successfully prepare students for the workforce.

The ultimate goal is to prepare students for employment. Students who successfully complete the program are then hired to work in the summer in a variety of different businesses throughout the area.

Every effort is made to place students in careers areas of their interest. Last year was a “pilot” year for the program and it turned out to be a huge success for those who were involved with it.
