It Happened to Alexa seeks to grow, expand

With 2019 underway, It Happened to Alexa continues to make news.

The organization with Lewiston ties, now located in the Larkin Exchange Building in downtown Buffalo, seeks to enhance its growth and expansion. IHTA (formerly known as the It Happened to Alexa Foundation) is seeking new members for its board of directors, as well as its special events committee.

“We are growing and expanding and would like you to be a part of it,” IHTA Executive Director Kate Fowler said.

She explained 2018 proved to be an exciting year. Included was the organization’s move from its Lewiston location on Center Street to a new office at Larkin; the launch of a new, custom-built website; and a re-launch of the Great Contraption Race on the Buffalo River.

“And there are no plans to slow down this coming year,” Fowler said.

She noted IHTA intends to invest in strategic planning to expand its offerings to the local community while developing new partnerships and initiatives. Members of the board of directors will be expected to participate in the strategic planning, assist in the implementation of the completed plan, actively promote IHTA as an organization (and its events to their friends, family and colleagues), and play a vital role in IHTA’s expansion.

As a member of the special events committee, duties would involve working on/helping IHTA plan its special events, collecting and creating baskets, and promoting events throughout one’s own network.
