Bring Back the 100 game at N-WHS

Wed, Dec 19th 2018 07:30 pm

Coming Jan. 18, Niagara-Wheatfield High School will welcome back all honorees of its Falcons Athletic Hall of Fame for its Bring Back the 100 event.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., Bring Back the 100 action begins with the Niagara-Wheatfield girls basketball team, as it faces Mt. St. Mary’s in a non-league contest. Following the game, all honorees of the Athletic Hall of Fame will be honored and recognized. Following the ceremony, the boys basketball team will face Williamsville East at 7 p.m.

A reception will follow the boys game, which will allow Falcons of all generations, their friends and families to meet, share stories and help build a memory for the ages.

Al Pogel, who has spearheaded the efforts to Bring Back the 100, said, “We wanted to be sure to honor the new inductees of the hall at their own special ceremony at the November event. We also wanted to have a separate event so that we could invite all inductees back to see the new wall and its new location. What is more fitting than an athletic contest? This evening will be one that is special and unique, because there is both a girls and boys game, and we get to honor those who have done so much to help build the program at N-W. It will be a night to reminisce, recall our great history and the accomplishments of our inductees, while at the same time, cheer on the newest class of Falcons.”

Honorees will also get a chance to check out the recently unveiled Athletic Hall of Fame display located in the hallway leading up to the main gym, next to the cafeteria.

Those with interest, or honorees looking to attend can RSVP by calling Jamie Beiter at 215-3616 or email [email protected], or email Pogel at [email protected]
