Wed, Dec 19th 2018 07:20 pm

The Division of Nursing and Allied Health at Niagara County Community College recently announced the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs awarded continuing accreditation for 10 years to the surgical technology program, with an approved satellite campus at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.

The recent peer review conducted by the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting and CAAHEP’s board of directors recognizes the NCCC surgical technology program’s substantial compliance with the nationally established accreditation standards.

“I am excited about this accomplishment, as the faculty at NCCC is committed to providing quality educational experiences to students and aims to graduate individuals that will become safe practicing certified surgical technologists in our community,” said Gemma Fournier, the coordinator of the surgical technology program at NCCC.  The Surgical Technology Program clinical and laboratory instructors are all certified surgical technologists and are current within the surgical field.
