Wheatfield Lions, NFMMC to host free health fair

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and the Town of Wheatfield Lions Club will host a health and wellness fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the clubhouse at Five Senses Nature Park, 6535 Ward Road, Wheatfield.
The free event will offer instrumental eye screenings for young children by Lions Club members along with heart rhythm, BMI and blood pressure screenings by Memorial Medical Center staff. Information regarding Memorial's wound center, women's services, heart center, health home, orthopedic services, surgical services and other health and wellness offerings will be available.
Representatives from Independent Health will be on hand to discuss their 2019 Medicare plans and new interactive app for members who may have diabetes.
Light refreshments will be served.
Founded in 1973, the Wheatfield Lions Club's motto is "We Serve." The club focuses on five service areas: the blind, diabetes, hunger, environment and pediatric illnesses such as cancer.
