Grand Island Fire Chief Chris Soluri reports that the Fuccillo Automotive Group has spent over $8,000 to purchase T-shirts for all students in kindergarten through fifth grade as a part of fire prevention week.
During the school visits led by Assistant Chief Dan Mathes this week, all the students will be provided a T-shirt purchased with funds from the Fuccillo Automotive Group when GIFC firefighters visit their school to teach them about fire safety. Mathes and his crew visited Kaegebein Elementary School and St. Stephen School on Wednesday, Oct.10; Huth Road School on Thursday, Oct. 11; and the Sidway Elementary School students will be coming to Fire HQ on Friday, October 12.
The Fire Prevention Open House will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12.
Soluri welcomed and is thankful for such support, saying on behalf of all the officers and members of the GIFC, "Thank you" to the Fuccillo Automotive Group for supporting their local volunteer fire company, "and more importantly, all the students in kindergarten through fifth grade who will benefit from your generous donation."
Verelynn and Sophia wear the new T-shirts and firefighter gear. Fuccillo donated the shirts for students who are undergoing fire safety training this week.
