Time to begin planning for the upcoming Peach Festival.
Entering its 61st year, the annual Niagara County Peach Festival opens Thursday, Sept. 6, and continues to Sunday, Sept. 9, at Academy Park in the Village of Lewiston. The event is presented by the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston.
Lewiston Kiwanis officials report the festival's ever-popular advance ride tickets are now on sale and offer a 50 percent discount on all festival rides.
"We are very, very lucky this year that we have been able to obtain the (same) ride company," said Jerry Wolfgang, Lewiston Kiwanis Peach Festival advisory chairman. The club is again partnering with national festival ride provider Amusements of America. "Ride companies are not very easy to obtain; we have had the same ride company for the past five years, and they're doing a very good job."
Wolfgang spoke of the exceptional value for festivalgoers via the Kiwanis advance sale ticket offering.
"Advance ride tickets are the best way for families to come to the festival and save 50 percent by buying tickets ahead of time," he said. "One ticket per ride and there's 10 tickets in a batch. That's $20 for 10 tickets. That sale takes place right now - currently at a number of different businesses, banks, Tops Markets, etc.
"This is a great way for families to save money!"
Wolfgang noted there is no admission fee for visitors to the Academy Park festival grounds.
